Installing Engineered Hardwood

Installing floors may seem scary, and to be honest, it was at first! I had a lot of practice laying these engineered oak floors on the main floor of my home. So when it came to doing the upstairs hallway - I thought, “this will be a piece of cake”.

Well, a few weeks later…I was finally finished installing the floors. I forgot how long it takes to get each angle and cut precise. However, I saved SO much money doing the floors myself! Not to mention, ripping out gross old gray carpet is such a good feeling. I mean, who doesn’t love demo??

The flooring I chose was from Lumber Liquidators. The exact product is no longer in stock, but there are so many flooring options out there! I know a lot of people are installing luxury vinyl plank flooring. It doesn’t require the tedious placement and nailing that these floors took. It’s also water resistant! So it’s great for kids and pets.
